Term 1 art was so fun! We drew so many pictures and i enjoyed doing every last one of them with Mrs Hampton as our art teacher! This term was interesting mainly because we had to draw people from our class modelling on a table. I got to take part of this and be one of the models one lesson. It was also challenging because we had to draw the person in different ways. First we had to practice drawing only the light shown on the person and that was hard to me because you can't draw the outline of the person, you have to draw only were the light is on the person. After a few weeks of that, we then put the shades down and turned these small lights on that were pointing to the model and try and draw only the shadow on the person. That was even more difficult for me than the light drawing because there is less dark than light and I had to try and force myself not to draw the outline of the person. Honestly, I don't think I did that well on this task and I don't really like my drawings because it was very difficult for me and i struggled a lot. Other than that, I still enjoyed it very much!
Line- line dominates the image and makes it stand out
Texture- texture makes the image come to life, makes it looks like you can accually feel the objects painted.
Shape- putting lines together to make patterns or an enclosed space
Tone- Different shades of a colour- e.g. dark, light.
Colour- the different colours of a shape or pattern
My class and I first learnt about shades, colours and mixing shades together to made beautiful texture. Then we decided to try that in a detailed drawing of a fruit or vegetable. After we drew our fruit, we got taught about painting and we painted over our drawing with different colours, and experimenting with our oun colours by mixing different colours together. To finish of our piece of work, we then added little paint dots of black, white and skin colour. We learnt how to do patterns with the dots and where the dots could go to accentuate that particular area and what colour of dots to put in sertain areas to make the painting look less plain.
